Announcements, Notices & Tips from the CodebaseHQ Team
We've just launched a US-based telephone number which should allow our users from the US to get in touch more easily without incurring international calling charges.
We'll be trialing this number for the next few months. We offer telephone support for any paid accounts (free accounts should email support@codebasehq.com as normal when requesting support) as well as any advice needed when signing up for an account.
Feel free to give us a call, we're open 10am until 5.30pm Monday to Friday, London Time.

As part of our deployment today, we've introduced a small new feature which allows you to add more interactivity to your commit messages. You can now use some of the syntax which is available in Codebase Markup. See the list of examples which you can do below:
Link to branches & tags

I've done some work on this but also in the {branch:devel} branch.
This upgrades things to merge {branch:other-repo/master}.

Not sure when this fix was implemented but it wasn't a problem in {tag:v1.4.1}
Link to other commits
To link to commits, simply post a SHA with more than 6 characters into your commit message. We'll automatically link it to the appropriate commit from any repository in the project.

this should have been committed with e82604e0433605154fb16140eed821c7500a02b4
Link to tickets
As you may already know, you can create links two way links to tickets using
[touch:123] or
[completed:123] (where completed is the name of a status). When using this technique, a note will be posted in the ticket however if you just want to reference a ticket from a commit you can simply reference with
#123.

I'm not sure ticket #123 should have been resolved by this
We hope you'll enjoy this little extra feature.

After a few months of design & implementation, we’re really pleased to announce that we’ve successfully migrated all our services to our new infrastructure. We’ve moved from VPS.NET to colocation with Melbourne Server Hosting, a leading UK-based hosting solution provider. We bought a completely new set of high-specification Dell-branded servers which the guys at Melbourne racked-up, setup with redundant network & power feeds and provided us with permanent KVM-over-IP giving us full control over the servers from our offices (not having to sit on without needing to sit on the highly uncomfortable datacentre floor while deploying & managing physical hardware is a massive bonus for us!).
You can see lots of pics of the new stuff on our flickr page.
For the last few months we’ve been working hard on designing & deploying a completely new Codebase server cluster. The new system gives us the power to provide faster response times in addition to massively increasing capacity on our systems.
We’ve been working on the new hardware for the last few weeks and we’re now ready to transitioning all data to the new servers.
At around 9am GMT on Wednesday 24th March, we’ll be taking Codebase offline for approximately 10 minutes to run the final data synchronisation. When we’re back online Codebase will be running on a new set of IP addresses and DNS will have been updated to reflect this. Users who use IP addresses for connecting to Codebase should be aware of this change. Old IP addresses will continue to direct traffic however may be slower due to the additional routes involved so we encourage everyone to ensure they are connecting directly to the new network.
As soon as the new cluster is live, we’ll be posting more information about how things are working and our partnership with our awesome new hosting provider.
In the meantime, you might like to check out some pictures on our flickr account.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but the end result will be awesome!
You can now link directly to a branch or a tag within any of your repositories from any text which supports Codebase markup. Just use:
{branch: reponame/branch} or
{tag: reponame/tagname}. For example, if you have a repository called app and a branch called devel, just add
{branch: app/devel}
