UX improvements, remove activity events & our forum

Posted on October 15th, 2009 16:26

Before the next instalment of 'Codebase: The technical story' we thought you guys would want to know about some of the recent updates to Codebase, there have been quite a few...

Removing activity feed entries

Some of us do make mistakes. For example, have you ever forgotten to click 'Minor edit' in the wiki section filling up the activity feed unnecessarily? Well now admins can help you out, we have made it possible to remove entries completely from the feed. When hovering over the entry a small 'x' will appear in the top right hand corner, you can see this in the image below.

Design improvements to time tracking

The time tracking pages in Cobebase have had a bit of an overhaul.

  • All summary text is marked up with Codebase Markdown.
  • Time sessions can be deleted or edited at any time.
  • Links to tickets & commits now include the ticket summary or commit message respectively.
  • The right column includes useful statistics about time entered for the past day, week and month.
  • Time tracking now has an API - checkout the documentation for full details.

There have been a number of improvements to the functionality including the ability to edit and delete time sessions, we have also removed the ability to freeze time. We felt that this functionality was fairly redundant with our addition of time analysis reports.

Commit updates

For awhile now we have been amusing ourselves by searching through our projects commits and we thought we would let you in on the fun. Our commit search.

As a lot of people will have noticed there have been some design changes to the commit banners along with changes to the diff page. We think the new design is a refreshing update from the old, let us know what you think!

You can talk about anything from Git, Mercurial and SVN to the Codebase API.
